There are few places I’ll recommend more enthusiastically for a relaxing escape than Noosa. As a Brisbane local, many of my favourite childhood memories involve being bundled into the car and driving north towards salt air and the sea. Now as an adult, I’m delighted to see the rest of the world catching on to what Queenslanders have known all along.
It’s easy to understand the appeal. Even in the middle of winter, the warm air is enough to convince anyone from the southern states they’ve made the right decision. The water is inviting year-round with barely ever more than a ripple, and Hastings Street offers more than enough boutiques, cafés and restaurants to tempt you away from the sand. Then there’s Noosa National Park, which rewards every step you take with ocean views, and maybe a pod of dolphins or even a koala high in the trees.

Best for: Beachfront apartments, easy luxury.
If you want a holiday where you really don’t have to think, this is for you. Netanya is situated in arguably the best position, with access directly to main beach. On the other side of the property is Hastings Street – specifically, you’re neighboured by Massimo Gelato (IYKYK), a boutique grocer and cafe, Sail’s (one of Noosa’s best restaurants) and some excellent shops.
Best for: Romantic beachfront stays.
Tingirana is an intimate luxury property with an absolute beach front location. Guests can enjoy direct access to Main Beach, complimentary yoga classes and a quieter atmosphere than some of the larger resorts nearby. There’s also a gym, a spa, and a pool, so you really never have to leave.
Best for: Larger group stays, being situated out of the hustle and bustle.
Set within the rainforest bordering Noosa National Park, Peppers offers a more secluded experience while remaining close to Hastings Street. There are generous villas, perfect for bigger groups and families, plus multiple pools and Stephanie’s Ocean Spa. Perfect for a restorative escape.
Best for: Little Cove access, peace and quiet.
Tucked into the rainforest, just around the corner from Main Beach, you’ll find little cove. For those who prefer this locale, Little Cove Court is a great option, boasting self-contained apartments with waterfront views. You’re basically guaranteed the most peaceful stay.
Best for: Beachfront apartments, a car-free holiday.
If waking up to uninterrupted ocean views is high on your wishlist, Seahaven Noosa is hard to beat. The property offers apartment-style accommodation, many with private balconies overlooking the water. When you’re not swimming in the ocean, there’s a choice of heated pools, a beachfront lawn perfect for afternoon lounging, and Hastings Street just steps from your door.
Best for: Wellness getaways, rooms with a view
If you’ve frequented Noosa, you’ll recognise this as the former Sofitel Hotel site. But it’s now been redesigned as Elysium Noosa, featuring 175 rooms and suites, perched on the edge of the Noosa River, and just steps from Hastings street. Every room boasts a balcony or terrace, and there’s also specially-designed wellness suites complete with saunas and spas. The ultimate indulgence.
Best for: Adventurous types
I’ll admit, this is not your typical Noosa accomodation. But if you’re after a pretty spectacular glamping experience, this ticks all the boxes. While there’s a range of accomodation tyoes, my pick is the Paperback Glamping Tents, which have all the comforts of a hotel room, but position you within the National Park, on the edge of Lake Cootharaba. You’re also just a 25-minute drive from Noosa Main Beach.
Best for: A secluded getaway, appreciating nature
Noosa can get fairly busy in peak season, so if you’d prefer something a little quieter, Eumarella Shores could be fore you. It’s located on the edge of Lake Weyba, just a few minutes from all the action of Hastings Street. The accomodation is seriously luxurious, and positioned either high in the treetops, or right on the water’s edge. You really feel like you’re worlds away from everything here.
Best for: A quieter escape just moments from Hastings Street
If you want easy access to Noosa’s best-known attractions without staying in the thick of the crowds, Hastings Park is another smart choice. The boutique property offers spacious self-contained apartments, so it’s well suited to longer stays or groups. It has a more laid-back feel while still being just a short walk from Main Beach and Hastings Street. After a day spent exploring, the outdoor pool also provides a welcome place to unwind.
Best for: Absolute beachfront location
If the name didn’t give it away, this is one of the best locations on my list. The spacious, self-contained apartments are ideal for couples and families, and you’re quite literally positioned on the sand, so you can move between morning swims, long lunches and sunset walks without ever needing the car. If your dream holiday revolves around beach days and a leisurely stroll home, this is one of Noosa’s best-located stays.
