Paris has a way of making the mundane feel considered. An espresso break outside a café, a hurried crossing at the lights. Even the brief pause between appointments on a narrow Marais street during Fashion Week. These incidental scenes become their own kind of theatre. It is here, away from the front row and the runway, that personal style reveals its most instinctive form.
Australian label BASSIKE brings this sensibility into focus, exploring the art of off-duty dressing against the streets of Paris. Shot around the Marais, we follow four models through the city, capturing the natural rhythms of Paris Fashion Week and the wardrobe choices that carry them from one show to the next. The result is a study in ease. Clothing find its own place in the movement of everyday life.
Since its inception in 2006, BASSIKE has approached clothing through a lens that dissolves traditional distinctions between menswear and womenswear, building a shared wardrobe around considered construction, tactile fabrics and a distinctive Australian sensibility. The philosophy feels particularly at home in the Marais, where the interplay of art, architecture and street style offers an expansive backdrop for individual expression.

Here, we get a glimpse of BASSIKE’s PC27 Universal collection, launching in March 2027. Grounded in familiar wardrobe foundations, the collection introduces a more directional, utility-led sensibility, balancing heritage references with the practicalities of contemporary dressing. Oversized shirting, relaxed tailoring and zip-through Nylon Jackets establish a versatile starting point, while traditional wool trousers, cargo styles and nylon utility pieces lend the collection a more functional edge.

Elsewhere, premium cropped boxy T-shirts and slouchy, oversized piqué polos bring a sense of informality to the proposition. Proportions are relaxed, layers are considered, and individual pieces are designed to move easily between contexts. The collection’s strength lies in this interplay: classic staples acquire new character through silhouette, while utilitarian elements bring definition to an otherwise pared-back wardrobe.

There is a particular poetry to the setting, when the city becomes a meeting point for international perspectives on dressing. Here, in Paris, BASSIKE enters this conversation on its own terms, with an emphasis on authenticity, versatility and the nuances of getting dressed.
BASSIKE’s PC27 Universal collection will launch March 2027 in stores and online.
