Finding forever secondhand is exactly what the environment needs. So here’s your guide to vintage shopping online, courtesy of the minds at RUSSH. From pre-loved designer bags to archival gowns, these are the online vintage stores to know. And you don’t even have to leave your front door.

    1. Shy Online

Known for: Niche luxury pieces at great prices

Our Social Media Coordinator and Writer Samantha’s go-to vintage shop. Having purchased from them on multiple ocassions you can be assured the quality, efficiency and selection at Shy Online is like no other. They do monthly drops promoted on their Instagram, and have some of the nichest yet affordable selections from Tom Ford by Gucci, Saint Laurent, CHANEL, and Yohji Yamamoto. Once live, you can purchase their pieces via their website.

    2. EVOIIA

Known for: Luxury pieces at great prices, wearable basics, great condition pieces

This Sydney-based online store is a treasure trove of vintage finds – from Prada to MiuMiu to Dior and YSL. They stock footwear, garments, sunglasses and even some swim, and all for very reasonable prices. Everything is in great condition, and lovingly curated by one very passionate vintage lover. They have also started doing pop-ups across Sydney and Melbourne – with the next set for Sunday 6 July at the Secondlife Markets in Melbourne.

    3. Studded Petals

Known for: Pristine Vivienne Westwood, 90s Jean Paul Gaultier, Anna Sui, Dior by Galliano and Fendi.

I do not gatekeep, but if I was in the business of doing so, I’d keep Studded Petals close to my chest. This is my current favourite vintage shop; not only does it carry a diverse range of sizes (a rare thing in the vintage game), but it’s true archival pieces at a fraction of the cost at other stores.

    4. Sororité Vintage

Known for: A shoe collection to rival Carrie Bradshaw’s and vintage French lingerie

With over 700k followers on Instagram, this is one of those situations where if you like something, you’re going to have to work fast. Sororité Vintage has earned its hefty following for doling out vintage La Perla and Chantall Thomas bras, slips and bustiers, a sprinkling of vaguely 90s and Y2K designer party dresses, and the true drawcard, it’s magnificently curated and regularly updated collection of vintage designer heels. Think Prada mules, Manolo Blahnik slingbacks, Chanel ballet flats and Jimmy Choo sandals.

    5. Los Feliz

Known for: Vintage Plein Sud, Ungaro, Escada, Moschino and Kenzo.

I’ve been a stalwart of Nadia Pape’s beloved Barcelona born and based store for many years now. I love its unique perspective, artful and distinctly southern European. For fans of Maryam Nassir Zadeh.

    6. Kiko Vintage

Known for: A genre-spanning range of vintage designer, from Commes Des Garcons and Hysteric Glamour to Vivienne Westwood and Dior.

Kiko Vintage is one of those IYKYK local names. Beloved by Sydney models, creatives, musicians and artists alike, every month Kiko Vintage releases a drop of designer vintage from the 70s up until the 2000s. The styles are always changing, but you can always count on there being a heavy flush of colour, handbags and a sensibility as sweet as the candy that accompanies your purchase in the mail. Read our interview with Kiko Vintage founder, Arielle De Bono, here.

    7. Vestiaire Collective

Known for: one-of-a-kind vintage deals, limited-time price drops, regularly updated inventory

This French resale site has been going since 2009 (and has the support of fashion conglomerate Kering too). Vintage inventory on this site is user-generated, authenticated by their in-house team. You’ll find a great range of designer labels across all categories here, with shipping available to most destinations.

    8. Toots Vintage

Known for: Statement ballgowns, evening dresses, tulle and silk chiffon.

A NYC store helmed by Michael Phelps, if you have an event you want to wear something extravagant too, look no further. Also a fan of the cute floral brooches.

    9. LovedbyChi

Known for: Its curated selection of vintage lingerie think the YSL slips, Miu Miu skirts, and kitten heels too.

Founded in 2019, LovedbyChi is an Italian-inspired small business that specialises in luxurious vintage pieces from the 60s to the early 2000s.

    11. Eveliina Vintage

Known for: Whimsical vintage silk dresses sourced from all decades.

If you’ve ever loved a Reformation or Realisation Par dress, Eveliina Vintage slips in as a secondhand alternative. Offering the kind of floral-patterned maxi dresses you hope to fall in love wearing in summer, there’s also a dedicated section for brides-to-be, with 1920s lace, drop waists, puff sleeves and all your girlish fantasies. Plus it comes approved by Adwoa Aboah and Devon Lee Carlson.

    16. 1st Dibs

Known for: antique finds, homewares, rare vintage

You’d be mistkaen for thikning that he cult online resal eplatform 1stDibs is just for homewares – in fact, they also list jewellery and rare vintage fashion pieces too. If you’re looking for something extra special, or one-off, this is the place we’d be going for a vintage engagement ring, birkins or ballgowns.

    17. Mori Market

    Known for: Denim, knitwear, shoes

Another locally curated shop via Instagram style vintage store. Mori Market offers a selection of sweet basics at an affordable price point. Kind of like op-shopping but without having to trawl through stained t-shirts to find a gem. If you’re not following for the garments themselves, do so for the mood imagery.

    18. Blue Spinach

Known for: Designer bags, CHANEL, luggage

A Sydney vintage institution if there ever was one. Blue Spinach, the previously cobalt blue corner store on Liverpool St in Darlinghurst has always been home to some of the most covetable vintage pieces, and now you can shop online.

If you didn’t already know, now you do. The number one destination for luxury vintage bags and goods, What Goes Around Comes Around is an NYC institution. Peruse the site and see for yourself why.

    22. Retrostar

Known for: warehouse sales, vintage tees

The best place in Southern Victoria to pick up a sweatshirt for layering. Head down to Swanston street for all your sundried, retro wares. The best part? There’s plenty to pick from.

    23. The RealReal

Known for: accessibility, authenticated goods, range

The OG of luxury consignment and we all know it. The RealReal is like one giant, chaotic vintage store, housing hundreds of brands and covetable items. If you remember it on the runway, The RealReal likely has it.

    24. Art Haus

Known for: Distinctive pieces of jewellery, from vintage Cartier watches to one-off statement bracelets.

The passion project of photographer and creative director, Natalie Cottee, Art Haus is a well-curated source of vintage treasures collected from across the globe.

    25. Shrimpton Couture

Known for: Archival pulls, period pieces, and referential fashion in spades

This is for the fashion elite. And that’s not just affixed to the price tag, but rather, the rich history and top-of-the-shelf vintage curation. Everything tells a story, and this is the story of couture.

    26. Lende Vintage

Known for: archival specialist fashion, delectable Marant shoewear, having very limited stock – so move with a swiftness.

This is the vintage store for the girls who love geometric, sculptural pieces. I am one of them, and will invariably end up on The Lende whenever I’m on the action hunt for archival Margiela or Helmut Lang.

    27. Miishka

Known for: contrast colours, extensive designer purses, and knits

Miishka’s mission is pretty straightforward. I’ve hovered over their Tom Ford for Gucci mules for a criminal amount of time in my inbox. They’re slinging designer goods in near-perfect condition, at a just price in an unjust economy. I’ll clink to that.
