Lee Mathews and Palorosa have come together in a considered collaboration that celebrates thoughtful design, artisanal craftsmanship and the beauty of everyday objects. To celebrate the launch, RUSSH is giving one lucky reader the chance to win a bag of their choice from the Lee Mathews x Palorosa collaboration.
Inspired by the Lee Mathews Resort 2027 palette and the work of artist Helene Schjerfbeck, the collection introduces three colour combinations: Strawberry and Sand, Palm and Chocolate, and Pistachio and Chocolate. Muted mineral tones, chalky neutrals and a hint of scarlet inform the palette, while a colour-blocked central band brings a fresh detail to Palorosa’s signature extra-large and medium basket silhouettes.
About the collaboration
United by a shared interest in material, colour and the process of making, the collaboration brings together Lee Mathews’ exploration of art and design with Palorosa’s distinctive woven forms. For Resort 2027, the two labels come together on a limited-edition capsule of handwoven bags made from recycled plastic, reimagining Palorosa’s signature silhouettes through a considered interplay of colour, texture and craftsmanship.
Founded by Italian-Guatemalan designer Cecilia Pirani, Palorosa works directly with its team of weavers in Guatemala City, alongside artisan communities across Guatemala’s western highlands. The brand brings traditional weaving techniques into contemporary design, creating functional pieces that reflect the value of handmade processes and the knowledge held within local communities. Each basket is woven by hand, drawing on generations of skill passed between makers. Through longstanding relationships with artisans, Palorosa supports the continuation of these techniques while exploring new expressions of colour, material and form.
