June fashion favourites 2026: The pieces on our wish list this month

Every month brings a fresh wave of pieces that inevitably make their way onto my wish list. My inspiration is varied: from international runways, to new collections from local designers, and of course, my impossibly chic RUSSH colleagues. The month of June was no exception.

As I make peace with the fact that winter has well and truly settled in here Australia, I was pulled towards sumptuous textures and easy layering this month. Matteau’s Plaid Shirt is a great example – I’m layering it with a white tank while the temperatures are low, but will wear it loose and on its own come summer. St Agni’s woollen wrap cape is the stuff of winter dreams – I can envision myself rugged up for my morning commute, with a pair of great denim (aligrace’s vintage pair have made their way onto my June wish list), and ballet flats, like Scarlet and Sam’s ruched, square-toe style.

There’s a heavy dose of practical pieces here, too. A new pair of Salomons are ideal for anyone looking to get their steps up this month, as is Pinky and Kamal’s activewear – chic enough for the yoga studio and beyond. And Balenciaga’s Le City bag is more than just an indulgence – it’s roomy enough to take you from work, to the airport. A worthy investment, if you ask me.

Of course, not everyone is embracing the cold. For those escaping to the Northern Hemisphere, silk shorts, basket bags, and effortless skirts are earning a place in the suitcase because, elsewhere in the world, summer is still in full swing. And if your travel plans include some kind of special occasion – a wedding, or perhaps just a dinner reservation you’ve been dreaming of – there’s plenty for that, too, with beautiful summer dresses courtesy of Dôen and Khaite.
